hi! i'm xai. twenty-something living in the outskirts of the bay area since january 20, 2006. oh and that was my birthday too. so with a backpack and a stroller bag i left the philippines to go here in the states and start a life here. so on that day, my birthday, i was able to spend it in 3 countries! how many people can say the same thing right?! anyway, i have a boyfriend, shawn and a dog, randall.

shawn and i have been together for over 3 years now. he was the one who thought of the name of the site. good thing he came up with it, because if it was up to be i would've settled for "food blog". anyway, i started this blog in july of this year (2009) but i wasn't really active until this month (december). i didn't know that school was gonna keep me very... VERY busy. shawn called it fail blog after i stopped posting for a month. i guess that got to me and made me start blogging again.

i started this blog to document my cooking (mis)adventures. i'm not the follow-a-recipe kinda guy, but since most blogs share their recipes, i started measuring everything i throw into the pot. pasta is my favorite thing to cook in the world, but i don't really feature it in my blog too much, but i know i really have to do it. also as much as i love eating filipino food, i am scared to cook it. most of the people i know here are filipinos and knows how a certain dish taste like, and if i cook adobo and they tell me, "oh! this sinigang tastes really good!". as much as i want to be happy, i did not freakin' cook sinigang. i hope you get my drift.
